Year 5 begins by travelling back in time to explore the world of the Ancient Egyptians. Within the autumn term children will learn about how the Egyptians worshipped and worked at different levels of society. Children will be replicating the mummifying process and producing colourful art works to recreate symbolic items for the time.
For our spring term children will be looking at Britain through the Victorian Era, particularly focusing of the life of children throughout this time period. We will be experiencing what it was like to work as a servant and how the industrial revolution changed the way we live our lives. William Morris is our stimulus for art where children design and printing their own wallpaper.
Summer terms’ topic revolves around rivers and mountains and exploring the vast variety of landscapes across the globe.
